BBL phototherapy (BroadBand Light Therapy or broadband pulsed light therapy) is a cosmetology method using light that eliminates cosmetic skin defects and even diseases (for example, acne). Light is supplied to the skin through a special BBL device. It gently heats the upper layers of the skin, restoring its natural structure.
The result of the BBL procedure is:
- restoration of skin functions, increasing the ability to regenerate;
- healthy, radiant skin with a more even tone;
- increases skin firmness and elasticity;
- cell rejuvenation occurs at the genetic level;
- reduces the size of pores on the face and the depth of wrinkles;
- elimination of pigmentation and vascular pathologies;
- treatment of rosacea and hyperpigmentation.
Benefits of BBL Therapy
- The use of pulsed light in cosmetology is also known as IPL therapy (Intensive Pulsed Light). Both methods, IPL and BBL, are based on the use of broadband pulsed light. But BBL is an advanced method of phototherapy. This technology uses dual lamps, i.e. two light sources. With two lamps, you can more accurately adjust the depth of beam penetration and control the power of exposure. IPL devices have only one light source.
- Thus, BBL phototherapy devices are more advanced technologies, with special lamps, nozzles and replaceable filters, which helps them work faster, more efficiently and with several problems at once. And the built-in cooling system allows you to use high powers painlessly and safely.
Types of procedures
On the device, you can choose one of several types of treatment (protocols) for a specific problem.
Classic BBL Phototherapy Protocol
This protocol is aimed at eliminating aesthetic defects of the face, neck and décolleté area: excessive pigmentation, vascular pathologies and skin diseases. A course of phototherapy allows you to get rid of freckles, redness, vascular networks and neoplasms, as well as cure acne, eliminating bacteria that cause acne. Additionally, there is a slight rejuvenating effect due to increased cell regeneration.
Photorejuvenation BBL Forever Young
The protocol is aimed at combating age-related changes in the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. It combines two methods at once: BBL photorejuvenation and SkinTyte infrared thermolifting. Special attachments provide the skin with powerful deep heating, which not only ensures the production of new collagen, but also its maximum maturation, and increases the lifespan of these fibers. The result of the procedure is a pronounced lifting effect and a significant improvement in skin quality. This method has proven itself as an “exit procedure” due to the lack of a rehabilitation period.
Phototherapy BBL Forever Clear
The protocol is designed to treat acne and accelerate collagen production in the skin. Eliminates pimples, blackheads, excess oiliness, enlarged pores and post-acne scars. During the procedure, the skin is exposed to light of different spectra, each of which helps fight acne in its own way.
How does the BBL procedure work?
- First, the cosmetologist will select the appropriate settings on the device, then apply gel to the areas to be treated and ask the patient to put on glasses to protect the eyes. After this, the doctor begins the procedure.
- The procedure is painless, the patient will feel only slight warmth and tingling. The cosmetologist can treat the same area more than once with different filters to eliminate several problems during the session. Small areas take about 30 minutes.
- BBL has no recovery period and patients return home to their normal routine immediately after the procedure. Redness will disappear in about 12 hours.
- The course, depending on the problem, consists of 2-4 procedures, which are carried out with an interval of 4 weeks. Skin improvements are noticeable immediately after the first procedure, and the maximum result is achieved after 3-6 months.
MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE TREATMENT
- Successful fight against aging
BBL has the ability to target aging skin cells in order to stimulate natural collagen production. As a result, the skin then looks and can appear younger and more radiant
- Treatment of common skin problems
BBL is a comprehensive solution for a wide range of skin problems. It restores and protects the skin from the negative effects of sun exposure, facial veins, rosacea, and much more. All of these common skin concerns will disappear with the help of BBL!
- Any area of the body can be treated
Thanks to the individually adjustable wavelength, it is possible to target any area and even several skin problems in a single visit.
- Completely non-invasive
BBL phototherapy is a completely non-invasive procedure so you can enjoy great results immediately after treatment. Each session lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes, after which you can get right back to your daily routine.
Contraindications and preparation
Although BBL phototherapy is a safe procedure, it still has its contraindications:
- Convulsions and epilepsy;
- Oncological diseases;
- Skin infections in the active phase (herpes, bacterial);
- Diabetes mellitus;
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Taking medications that increase photosensitivity (contraceptives, anticoagulants, retinoids, antibiotics);
- Open wounds and injuries in the area of impact;
- The state after a fresh tan.
Also, 14 days before the procedure, it is not recommended to sunbathe, apply self-tanner to the skin, or do chemical peels. A mandatory recommendation is to use a cream with protection from ultraviolet radiation for a month before the photorejuvenation session.
