PRP therapy (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an injection of the patient’s own blood plasma with a high concentration of platelets. Platelets take an active part in the regeneration of body cells. It is this property that underlies plasma therapy in cosmetology. After PRP plasma lifting, accelerated restoration of skin cells begins – as a result, wrinkles are smoothed out, elasticity returns and the oval of the face is tightened.
The human body tends to lose its regenerative functions with age. Because of this, the skin loses elasticity and firmness, wrinkles and pigmentation appear.
Platelets react to even minimal damage to any tissue in our body and are responsible for its regeneration. A large number of growth factors and prothrombin (a substance responsible for restoring tissue integrity) accumulate at the damage and actively restore tissue. The same thing happens with plasma therapy; the doctor locally injects platelet-rich plasma into the skin, triggering active regeneration and renewal.
Enriched plasma is obtained using certain test tubes that contain separation media and membranes – separating gels. Thanks to these gels, the patient’s blood is separated into plasma and other fractions when processed in a centrifuge. Each manufacturer has its own patented media technology, which is based on heparin or sodium citrate.
Due to the regenerative abilities of platelet-rich plasma, PRP can be expected to provide a comprehensive solution to the following problems:
In medicine, plasma therapy has long been used to treat various injuries, restore cartilage tissue, heal wounds and combat baldness. This procedure is a safe and effective way to heal and rejuvenate the skin of the face, neck, décolleté, hands and so on.
Before the procedure, the cosmetologist takes about 20 milliliters of blood from the patient’s vein and places it in a test tube for PRP plasma therapy. After this, the blood is processed in a centrifuge. As a result, the blood is divided into fractions, one of which is platelet-rich plasma. The cosmetologist injects this plasma into the skin of the face, neck and décolleté using a thin mesotherapy needle.
The first results appear after 1-2 procedures, but for a more vivid and lasting effect, 3-4 PRP therapy procedures are required. After plasma lifting, redness and papules may be observed for several hours. Papules in some cases can last for several days. You can use decorative cosmetics after 12 hours.
